Sidney Karger is screenwriter, novelist and director.
His original screenplay “Fantasy Camp” sold in a competitive bidding situation to STX Entertainment and has Jennifer Garner attached to star, directed by Abby Kohn & Marc Silverstein. Sid has developed and written feature screenplays for Legendary Entertainment, Stampede Ventures, StoryFace Productions, Josh Gad and has adapted a Dave Eggers middle school novel. His screenplays have been featured on the annual Black List of the best screenplays in Hollywood and The Hit List twice. Sid’s short film “Daddy,” a comedy about a gay dude giving birth, won the first ever HBO LGBT Short Film Competition, premiered on HBO and screened at film festivals worldwide.
On the TV side, Sid’s original half hour dramedy “Bangs” is in development with director Geremy Jasper (“Patti Cake$”) and producer Sarah Condon (Freemantle). Sid has also been a contributing writer for Saturday Night Live and Billy On The Street.
Prior to screenwriting, Sid was an award-winning writer and director for Comedy Central, MTV, Amazon, IFC, FX, NBC, CBS, SyFy, Sundance, BET, AMC and truTV, where he’s worked with a variety of top talent including Amy Schumer, Kate McKinnon and Adam Sandler, to name three. Sid has also trained in improv at UCB in New York and The Annoyance Theater in Chicago.
Sid’s debut novel “Best Men” was published in the spring of 2023 by Berkley/Penguin Random House as part of a two book deal. His second novel “The Bump” was published on May 21, 2024. Sid is represented by book agent Daniel Lazar at Writers House and by Adam Kolbrenner at Lit Entertainment Group for film and television.
